Based on this scrap of paper written
by Frau Rach of the Jugendamt Wilhelmshaven in her own handwriting signed
by the children's mother, judge Fasse of the district court of Wilhelmshaven
gave the abducting mother sole custody of the children John-Michael and Sebastain
Hickman who were unlawfully abduted from South Africa to Wilhelmshaven Germany.
This was done although both parties knew full well that the children had
been unlawfully abducted from South Africa and that child abduction constitutes
a criminal offence in Germany under § 235 of the German criminal code
which carries with it a maximun sentence of 10 years imprisionment.
